The sixth annual BWA State Titles have officially concluded, closing out the first weekend of the 2025 BWA State Championships with three days of high–level competition at Bendat Basketball Centre.
Across the ten Championship Divisions, the Willetton Tigers emerged as the standout Association of the tournament, claiming five titles. The Cockburn Cougars added three championships, while East Perth and Warwick each secured one to round out a balanced weekend of elite junior basketball.
Since the inception of the State Titles in 2020, Willetton and Cockburn have continued to set the benchmark. Willetton now sits on 19 total titles, closely followed by Cockburn with 18, reinforcing their status as the most consistent performers across the event’s six-year history.
One of the weekend’s brightest highlights came from Carlos Wall of the Binar Maali U13 Boys, who put together a remarkable scoring run across the tournament. Wall finished as the top scorer of the entire State Titles, amassing 122 points and announcing himself as one of Western Australia’s most exciting young prospects.
Sunday’s Grand Final slate delivered a mix of tight contests and standout performances, including an overtime classic in the U13 Girls Championship. Despite Perry Lakes falling 31–30 in a thriller against Willetton, Hawks guard Sienna Mathiasz earned Grand Final MVP honours with a superb individual display.
