Western Australian Basketball League Announces 2025 Championship Men and Women Fixtures
Perth, WA – Monday 10 February – The Western Australian Basketball League (WABL) is excited to unveil the fixtures for the 2025 WABL Championship Men and Women season. The schedule is now available to view on PlayHQ.com or via the MyHoops app.
In 2025, the WABL Championship Men’s competition will feature 15 teams, while the Championship Women’s competition will include 14 teams. Notably, the women’s league will see the return of the South West Slammers and Goldfields Giants, and for the first time in club history, the Hills Raiders will debut their women’s team.
The season will kick off with Round 1 on Sunday 30 March, ahead of the NBL1 West season, which begins on Friday 4 April. Round 2 will follow on 5–6 April, with Round 3 scheduled for 12–13 April. After a General Bye during the Easter long weekend, Round 4 will coincide with Anzac Round, alongside the commencement of the WABL junior divisions season.
It’s important to note that Rounds 1–3, which will take place prior to the regular WABL season starting on Sunday 27 April, will primarily be hosted at Bendat Basketball Centre. After these rounds, the league will transition to home-and-away fixtures as venues become available.
Please note: A number of Sunday game times from Round 4 onwards remain to be confirmed as the junior WABL divisions are finalised in March.
The regular season will span 15 rounds, culminating in the Finals starting Sunday 20 July, and concluding with the grand finals on Sunday 3 August.
The Perry Lakes Hawks enter the 2025 season as the defending champions in both the men’s and women’s competitions. To learn more about past champions and the league’s history, visit this page.
